Connecting with Your Community through a Comprehensive Social Media Communications Strategy

The Parker Police Department identified years ago that dedicating resources to community outreach and community communication efforts was paramount in the strengthening of partnerships with law enforcement. This webinar will outline the strategy the Parker Police Department has followed in staffing, resource allocation, messaging, and implementation of a comprehensive social media communication strategy.

PRESENTER: Josh Hans handles public relations and public information for the Parker Police Department. Josh is responsible for internal and external communications for the PD. In addition, he manages all the social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Nextdoor, YouTube, and the MyPD app. After completing the FEMA Advanced Public Information Officer course at the Emergency Management Institute in Maryland, Josh became Parker PD's first civilian PIO. After spending nearly 20 years in the television news business, Josh joined the Parker Police Department in 2015. He worked in South Bend, Indiana and Memphis, Tennessee before coming to Denver to help KDVR Fox 31 launch their newscast in 2000. While at Fox 31, he won numerous industry awards including an Emmy.
